Methane (CH4) is another potent greenhouse gas produced by both natural processes and human activities. It is emitted during the production and transport of coal, oil, and natural gas. Agriculture (rice cultivation and livestock digestion), solid waste disposal (landfills), biomass burning, and leaking natural gas pipelines also contribute to methane emissions.

Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a greenhouse gas primarily emitted from agricultural and industrial activities. It is released from agricultural soil management practices such as excessive use of synthetic fertilizers or improper manure management. Industrial processes that involve the combustion of fossil fuels or chemical reactions can also produce N2O.
